Authorial Attribution

Authorial AttributionProject: Collaborative Writing and Authorial Attribution: Questioning Authorship in the Work of Martha Ostenso and Douglas Durkin” (2010) explores the possibilities of authorial attribution techniques for exposing differences between the textual production of collaborative writing partners Ostenso and Durkin. After reviewing stylometric approaches and the theories of authorship that underlie them, this paper concludes that attribution tools fail to account for the complexity of collaborative authorship.

Deliverables: The results of this research were presented at the Digital Humanities Summer Institute Grad Colloquium, University of Victoria, in June 2010.

Skills and Tools: Stylometric analysis using the TAPoRware Plain Text Comparator and the Gender Genie
